why do you think that that is any way responsive to what i just wrote?
what i'm saying is that the people who *do* enjoy whatever 1950s boomer QoL you're imagining are far less likely to have kids that proles.
i agree that economics is a big reason why birthrates are declining but it's not the exclusive cause. a big reason is generational attitudes. i can't count how many times i've heard shrews say "omg i would never bring a child into this horrible world!"

not gonna bother trying to find the stats broken down by race and income because you'll just move the goalpoasts again. anyone that has been to a trailerpark and seen a bunch of benzos running around knows this is the case.
you're retarded on economic analysis. you predicted a housing collapse in 2020 and called everyone an idiot who disagreed, and housing prices have soared. now you're pretending that proles aren't popping out kids more than career shrews. you must live on a different planet than me.

Your data tells nothing. You are assuming someone making $150k can afford a baby so that's not it but the reality is that someone making $150k CANT AFFORD the babysitter, nanny, daycare, or 3rd bedroom.
"you predicted a housing collapse in 2020" never did bro.
"now you're pretending that proles aren't popping out kids more than career shrews" bro even the data you show basically shows no trend for income to kids. are you dumb or just a slimy kike?

In the United States, a Gallup poll indicates that two children is the most commonly cited ideal family size. However, the poll also reveals a significant portion of Americans prefer larger families, with approximately 4 in 10 saying three or more children is ideal. The average ideal number of children across all respondents is around 2.7.
Two Children: A large majority of respondents, about 44%, believe two children is the ideal family size.
Three Children: A significant portion, around 29%, prefer three children.
Four or More: A smaller percentage, around 12-16%, consider four or more children ideal.
Zero Children: A very small percentage, around 2%, believe that the ideal family size is zero children.
No Opinion: A few respondents (around 2-3%) have no opinion on the matter
Basically no one wants 0 or 1. Its financial. hth

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh but a lot of the late 20s kids I know have no interest in any of this, most of them don't even have SOs or any real plans to get one

To be fair,
I want to disagree with this so much, but sadly CR.
It was truly eye-opening to watch XO's aggregate reaction to the tariffs and it really drove home what absolute and utter irredeemable faggots so many "based" XO poasters are when the rubber meets the road.
In another life, they would literally be fat and happy Boomers gleefully shouting "Now go get a Summer job and watch this swing, kiddo!" as they triple-reverse-mortgage their property ("those lazy kids can make their own way through life like I did hehe") and down margaritas all day without giving any of it another thought.
Those people don't give a SINGLE shit about anything but themselves, and the ONLY reason they're all "Grrrr Boomers and Jews!" in 2025 is because they DESPERATELY wish they were Jewish Boomers themselves and they were instead born as Millennial Goys and they're pissed about it. That's it.

To be fair,
Just being real here, Millennials have indeed had our share of chances to maek it in a meaningful way:
- Good paying blue collar jobs were an option to us right out of high school (few of us took this path, but that was a choice). I know multiple people in their 30s are who multi-millionaires because they went down this path.
- Student loan debt sucks and college was by and large a scam perpetrated on our generation, but when we graduated EVEN ACCOUNTING FOR the 2008 crash we were still broadly speaking emerging into a job market that had a solid decade and a half of traditional growth left in it for junior workers looking to build a career. Most of the bort went down this path and frankly did fine, sure they may not be "rich" but nobody on XO is starving and very few are truly living paycheck to paycheck or worried about being able to repair their car or pay for a medical bill if something unexpected happens. Kids today? LJL they will literally be emerging into an AI hellscape in which many entry level jobs largely won't exist by 2028. Good luck!
- Crypto. I know multiple people in their 30s who are multi-millionaires because they went down this path.
- Traditional stonk market investing. It might not have made you a multi-millionaire, but we lived through the biggest and longest bull market in modern history as young adults in our 20s/30s. You didn't have to be investing $1000s every month to catch some of those benefits, and through the magic of compounding interest over time even small investments at that age can turn into huge windfalls down the line.
- Rise of the (pre-AI) internet + smart phone ubiquity made "just learn to code / start your own business bro" a genuinely viable option for relatively smart and entrepreneurially-minded young people (who weren't tech geniuses) in a way that it never had been before. I know multiple people in their 30s who are multi-millionaires because they went down this path.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that even though our generation got fukt compared to the Boomers -- aka the single luckiest (and most selfish) generation in history -- we still had plenty of opportunities available to us, and many of those opportunities won't be nearly as readily available to the kids of tomorrow. Yet as much as Millennials love to bemoan how selfish and gay and shitty the Boomers were, and as true as that bitching is, most of it comes from selfish jealousy rather than a sincere recognition that living in that fashion is morally wrong and abhorrent. Most "based" Millennials on XO don't actually give a fuck about leaving the world a better place for the next generation and the one after that -- particularly if accomplishing that might require them to make some personal sacrifices (you know, like all generations prior to the Boomers EXPECTED to do). They're just pissed that they don't get to Boom quite as hard as the Boomers did. And that's a fucking pathetic attitude.

Late 30s.
Lawyer (In House).
3 kids.
Extremely high cost of living area of an extremely high cost of living city in an extremely high cost of living state.
Wife works but doesn't make enough for it to be worth it. Would have a $200k-$300k higher NW probably if she stopped working while kids were young.
I've barely saved anything the past 5-6 years, but luckily I saved a lot before I had kids and made good investments. Save a little now that 2/3 kids are in (gubment) school. Once all kids are in school should be able to start saving a decent amount again.

Yeah, but I sort of "cheated" in the sense that I never had any student loans.
And you'll have a shot if crypto ever goes to zero. ~$600k of my NW is in Crypto.
If / when crypto goes up in value another 2-3x it opens up a shit load of avenues for me to leverage it and get much better returns than your average retail investor. Never going to sell.
Long LONG term though, you have no shot probably. I'm going to inherit a healthy mid-8 figures. Will never spend any of it though.

It sounds like we have different lived experiences, brother.
I have had to fight for everything I have. I have not been successful, but what I have managed to pull together has been by the skin of my teeth and against all odds.
I did have student loans. I did have to move across the country with nothing except an old beat down jalopy. Nobody was there to backstop me or give me rent money if I couldn't maek it or to help me seed capital for a business. All of my siblings are literally dead.
And yet, I rose, like a Phoenix, from an austere start among ashes to an unremarkable middle-class suburban life.
