JRPGs are easy and gay and troon but the good ones are good at "simulating" difficulty, like the boss fucks your party up bad in one hit and you have to hurry up and heal - but you don't realize that he's basically in a Cooldown for the next turn. You don't die a million times but you "feel challenged," synthetically, in a controlled way. Japanese designers have a lot of Control over the experience ime. |

btw Fantasian cannot be gamed by grinding and can be rather difficult, especially on the original difficulty. |
