I don’t think he will do well in live formats - sure, he can improve his weaknesses with toastmasters or whatever, but generally it is better to lean into strengths. So if you have multiple paths in front of you, being advised “path A is better because X” is much more helpful of a comment, to me, than only staying positive
But again, I can see how it can be read as undermining |
