I live in California, so half goes to taxes.
1br apt is $2,700/mo. My one dumb indulgence, my car, is $2,000/mo when you include insurance. Health insurance is $550/mo (solo, self-employed).
Between dining out, concerts, groceries, all my satanic online subscriptions (netflix, hbo, spotify, etc.), and other random but not baller expenses, together with car/rent/insurance, I spend around $10k/mo.
So that leaves me about $80k left over after tax each year, which I park in a maxed SEP IRA and the leftover in ETFs.
It's fine, but I'm never going to afford a house here.
