Oh dude yeah totally, LZ and The Beatles and Lynyrd Skynyrd, they're so famous they're untouchable. Let's poast Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd next, and the The Eagles, omg this kid has no idea what he's saying LOL he knows nothing about music. You two are FOLLOWERS.

I can't believe you can compare this to anything on the gorillaz "plastic beach." you're a moron. pick out one track on that album that stands up to this in any way shape or form. you're really making fun of yourself.

his voice sounds like ass. never liked him. you like him because of the hype, probably think when you read On the Road in the 11th grade was the defining moment of your life. have fun never having a clue for the rest of your life, thinking you're an original. but you're not. you buy in to all hype. probably have "The Fame" in your car cd player

I've always wondered what it feels like to not have any original thoughts and buy in to everything I'm told. "If it's famous, it must be awesome!" What's it like, guys?

This is not true. If you know anything about me, you'll know that I shill for Vampire Weekend on xoxo, and there are just as many people that hate them that like them.

My taste an opinion isn't based on bands, it's based on songs. How can you like a band when you really like one song but none of the others. I stated earlier that I liked the song "Feel Good, Inc" but none of the songs on Plastic Beach. So in that case, do I or do I not list Gorillaz as a band I listen to? This effectively makes your judgement innacurate if I list them.

So the only bands you'll admit to liking are those where every fucking song meets your elusive and - let's be real - arbitrary taste?
If that's your thing, cool man. I just think you're delusional if you think that everyone must agree with you on every song or else they're idiots who lack any modicum of taste whatsoever.
You're too extreme, and that's why you're an idiot.

No, I just have very high standards and think that most people have very low standards when it comes to music. People get caught up in the hype too easily. I don't like Muse for example, or Kings of Leon, but people are going nuts for them right now. I wouldn't say they're bad, but they're definitely overrated. I'm just trying to influence the world towards higher standards, I wish the Gorillaz weren't so famous from their previous work that people could take a look at their latest album and say, this work is unacceptable. I mean, please listen to the damn thing and tell me if you really think it's good. The only, barely listenable song on there is Welcome to the Plastic Beach. It's so vapid and lacking.

I don't like Muse and Kings of Leon either.
I'm not "most people", so get off your fucking high horse man. And yes, I'll admit to liking bands that aren't necessarily OBJECTIVELY OH MY FUCKING GOD AMAZING.
Case in point: The Pains of Being Pure at Heart.
Another way of putting it is: you don't have to write like James Joyce to write an INTERESTING and ENJOYABLE novel.

Dude, I don't object to you disliking certain bands. You're certainly entitled to that. But just because I like certain groups that aren't at the level of Radiohead doesn't mean I'm a "plebe" who goes along with whatever Pitchfork or any other music rag says is good.

worst RHCP album: One Hot Minute. I wasn't a fan of Stadium Arcadium when it first came out but the 1st disc grew on me kind of. Obviously not as high quality as BSSM, Californication, By The Way though. But those are so monstrous. Not big into Weezer really..

In *my* opinion, RHCP keeps trying to rehash their old stuff, and it's painfully obvious with Stadium Arcadium. Is it listenable though? Yes. Can you enjoy it? Obviously you do, and there's nothing wrong with that.
If you're going to say that you like listening to Stadium Arcadium, then you can't bash others for liking things that you don't necessarily think are that great.

No I agree with you of your assessment of Stadium Arcadium. I definitely think they are getting tiresome, and I don't really like the whole album, just Snow Hey Oh and maybe one more. The 2nd disc is where it really devolves into shitty repetition of all their other stuff.

Alright man. *offers hand* It's not that I don't think a lot of people have poor taste, but there are many, many, worse things to listen to than the Gorillaz's new album.
