when i had my crew cab long bed it was necessary to park in the very back of the lot and take up two spaces. most parking lots do not accommodate longer vehicles very well. if i ever drove into an actual city i had to park on the aisle with a straight out as it was impossible (without making a 6-point exit) to get out of mid-aisle spots.

Much easier to park in one move in larger vehicles. Pulling in requires a wide turn, backing out and readjusting once or twice, then you are parked too close to one side and the next person has trouble getting into and out of their car. And you can’t see behind you. Me in my big truck - pull past the spot, back in with plenty of room to pivot the large vehicle on a dime. Pulls into spit dead center, no need to adjust, no interference with adjacent cars.
