Nintendo’s Renaissance in like 2017 was before live service zoomers rose to prominence. They try making Games now and they sell about as well as Wii U games whereas BOTW sold 30,000,000k+. They also had a dormant fanbase who were just waiting for them to stop making weird hardware.
Sony tried live service and failed like 20x if you count cancelled games
Also GTA5 sold like 200,000,000k so every Western AAA Title needed to become open world. But they didn’t copy the Good parts of GTA. They just gave you Hectares to run around in.
So basically, Things Happened that caused other, Stupider things to happen. |
