FF6 gets better as it goes imo. A lot of Losers need more Structure and don’t like the second half but I enjoyed the concept of all manner of Demons being unleashed, and finding the Seven Dragons plus rounding up the Party. The Colosseum also plays into this. The world was overrun with Scum and Villainy. Maybe the world of ruin should’ve been on Genesis.
FF7 starts incredibly good, like lightning in a bottle, but the last dungeon and ending just feel like Normal JRPG Stuff, nothing special.
FF10 isn’t bad but the actual last boss is retarded
Are you talking about FF8 or something? That whole game sucks.

The only Final Fantasy game I've come close to beating is X and the issue there was that there were too many interesting conflicts: the moralizing interpretation of Sin vs. the pragmatic view that he's a monster that needs to be killed permanently, the Fayth vs. their dreams in the fake Zanarkand, the whole Zanarkand vs. Bevelle thing, the dead Maesters defrauding the living peoples of Spira, Seymour vs. Yuna as biracial persons. It got confusing because most of these plotlines didn't get much attention at the end. The game needed to have multiple quests or something to really flesh all this material out, God forbid they had cut any of it.
