Does some guy who died in 200 BC not get Saved? Jesus died for our sins. Were the pre-Christian souls in a holding pattern? Did no one go to heaven until like 0 AD? What about Pious Jews?

What if Jesus never showed up? Would Pious Jews get into heaven or nah? If so, why was Jesus necessary? Discuss.
