In response, he said he resigned -- which is typical. He always overreacts and throws a temper tantrum. I honestly think he expected me to cave.

But what he doesn't realize is, everyone with authority in our org is now Gen X or younger and we're all tired of this entitled boomer shit and we're not going to indulge them anymore. They're used to a culture where they do whatever they want and no one ever says no or holds them accountable, so it's been an unpleasant wakeup call. He said : “No [pumo], we will not have this conversation again. I will write X, Y and Z and explain to them why I am no longer going to be working here. I will also explain to anyone else who wants to talk to me about my situation.”

I responded: “That's your decision to make. I'll note that the policy I communicated applies to everyone. If you do plan to step away, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make arrangements to find your replacement.”

He said: “I have already let you know. I am not working again at [this organization]”

I then emailed one of the higherups he threatened to tell and he was cool with how I handled it.
