there is a scene where a son forces himself upon his mother, via mistaken identity, which they soften up a bit.
they use the appropriate spanish word for faggot, which tells me they were not overly censored.
they have also refrained from forcing in some black characters. when a colombian is described as mulatta, the actress is mulatta. There is maybe one, non-speaking role I can think of where someone is african without explanation, but its not distracting.
in short, the garcia marquez family insisted the series be made by colombians, with colombians, in colombia, and that probably saved it |
