I'm not sure how he pulled it off but he was basically living on the dole while running his business. I asked him why he did this and he said in the most over-the-top plaintive Jewish voice imaginable, "It's an opportunity!"
Another hilarious fact about this guy is that his father had converted to Messianic Judaism and his mom left his dad over this and remarried his boss, and they all continued to work together. One of the Jewiest Jew stories I've ever heard. They were also from Florida fwiw. |
