What is the alternative?
A large part of the show was different countries, national factions, even from within the military trying to obtain/keep control over the facility and the gate itself.

Stargate had James Spader and a tranny.
Actually really captures the 80s-90s cultural shift.

I didn't say one was better than the other. Just that Highlander was very early 80s and Stargate was very 90s.
I actually enjoyed Stargate when I saw it in the theater in HS. Haven't seen it since then, or any of the TV shows.
I never watched Highlander until a couple of years ago on TV. Also never seen any of the sequels or TV show.
