Throughout this time, the ship drifted, unable to move, until tugboats transported it to Subic Bay in the Philippines. Full power was not restored until six days later.
Food for the crew was delivered from another ship in the carrier strike group.
The article also notes that the "Benfold" often operates as part of the "George Washington" carrier strike group, which is currently heading to the Middle East.
