Everyone talked as if the take away was "A murderer goes free" or "celebrity buys acquittal" or even "the race card". But the real takeaway was that impartial justice (even as an ideal) is a white, western, Christian, male, historical phenomenon.
You CAN'T just load a jury with black women and make "legal argument" and present "conceded facts" and expect 12 jurors to follow along with you. This is of far greater import than the killer of Nicole and Ron walking.
The whole system was exposed. We continued to ignore this, however, and took 1994 demographics and quintupled the amount of nons in our overall jury pool.
Now, when a jury convicts Karmelo Anthony, it is a *surprise* - and only happened because of the white jury. It is a truth laid bare for anyone with eyes to see that blacks will acquit blacks, women will engage gender consideration ahead of "facts" (was the husband creepy? is the woman more attractive than me?), and I dont even know what muslims and mexicans do but I presume it ain't great.
Im no jury MFE, but I have tried maybe 100+ criminal felony jury trials to completion, and I would attest - The Jury Trial in 2026 America is DONE HERE. It's archaic. Its revered as a truth-discovering mechanism, but there is a truth at the heart of it (jurors will align by tribe) that the trial itself is literally forbidden to acknowledge.
We cannot get a "Trial of the 21st Century", because we cannot get a "trial" in the 21st Century. We only have expressions of identity. These are not trials. We may not have another |

Figure out what color the foreperson must be. All of this is 10000000x more important than the rules of evidence

What's crazy to me about OJ is his blood was all over the crime scene and the defense argued that it it was planted there which is so implausible even benzo would agree it's impossible. This would never happen today without serious chain of custody mishandling. |
