All of these fake stories, scammers, strivers with nojerb, broke internet personalities making shit up constantly. And they all sit around and debate whether you can retire on 3 million at 40 like they're philosophers with profound thoughts.
Just such a scammy and lecherous genre in general. They all reek of desperation to sell whatever crap they're hawking.

there is a significant demographic of middling striver wannabes who watch this kind of "content" religiously as a sort of schadenfreude to look down on silly proles who are less financially well off than them
i know a guy like this. dude is an absolutely pathetic wifeguy girldad beta loser with a soulless white collar job, making middling income, who is super into this stuff. he even *explicitly admitted* one time that he turns off the episodes if the guest has more net worth than him, because it makes him angry and it's not enjoyable for him anymore
