the weird thing is in THIS bubble earnings are actually keeping pace with share prices, at least among F500 and Big Tech. It’s not a bunch speculation based on future earnings like the dot com bubble. They’re actually earning that money right now.
GOOGL 17.4x
AMZN 21.1x
META 20x
MSFT 27x
NVDA 34.5x
AAPL 35.1x

316x, 3160x, pretty much whatever multiple we want
ljl at appl having higher PE ratio than most of that list though
some non-tech stocks have some crazy PEs right now as well though. eg walmart is currently 40 for no apparent reason

It’s a crazy situation man.
The money that the government pushed into Project Stargate was $500BN, it was basically a form of quantitative easing. Multiply that by 15-20 and you have 7.5 TN to 10 TN added to index value…which approximates the increase we have experienced since it was announced.
4x’ing the money supply during Covid and then injecting more money is fucking crazy. That said, where do you put the money? So much currency is out there.
All this AI capex is going the direction of railway mania. AI’s a viable business and technology but I don’t know much about where it will ultimately end up - I do think that index funds and Wall Street has enabled insane excess and ultimately everyday people will foot the bill.
That said I think it’s futile to try and time a cycle or bet against this stuff. I’d settle for diversifying into hard assets as a hedge.

I've got 225k in cash and another 200k in potential redeployment, but I can't bring myself to buy anything right now because of this craziness
I may need to just start DCAing in to growth because this shit might levitate for another year to four years at this rate

they realize.
they also know that companies at 30x PE valuations are hard to justify when the norm is closed to 20x and even a return to normal means a 1/3rd decline in the market.
valuations are so high because the Fed killed off cash as was a saving

> younger people growing up with all this shit will adjust what they pursue and how they pursue it in ways that exist outside of our own paradigms
younger people are all mouth breathing retards, or have you not been paying attention? They can't write, they can't spell, they can't do basic arithmetic bc tablets and now AI have and continue to cook their brains
i've got little kids and i'm watching it happen, my kids COAST at their school bc the other parents just threw tablets in front of their kids growing up and now they all have the attention span of a chicken, and this is an expensive private school, gotta figure public schools is a fucking bloodbath of retardation
my first grader has a vocab list first week of school she's expected to learn this week, and it's words she could spell first week of kindergarten like "the" and "of" and there are parents i the group chat complaining about how IMPOSSIBLE this list is
my oldest had assigned reading this summer and an essay to write on it, and a couple days before school started, school admin had to send an email out to the entire grade saying the deadline was extended by a MONTH bc basically no one had even bought the book yet and irate parents were calling to bitch about how retard timmy doesn't know how to turn a page
millennials are hands down the worst presidents ever, yeah boomers were turbo but at least they beat the shit out of their lazy kids and threw their stupid kids in a burlap sack and sank it to the bottom of the river
