The kids were reading sets of poorly written (by some teacher) lines into a microphone. Then they all sang together (poorly) to Katy Perry songs blared over the speakers. The only kids that sounded lively or musical at all were a couple of black kids here or there. At the previous school the kids memorized rhyming lines and put on actual plays.
