He’s at a bank or some kind of thing like that, lol. Anyway, they’re interviewing a new guy for compliance. Everyone in the story is white btw (it matters).
It was a panel interview and they asked the guy why he wanted to switch and told him he should be honest, don’t worry about burning bridges. The guy said he felt like everyone on his team was a superstar but they didn’t get the pay or recognition that went with it.
My friend said, “sounds like the Negro Leagues over there.”
After the interview they told him he was in trouble. He explained it wasn’t racist because he was saying that those players weren’t appreciated in their time either but now they have a whole file opened up on him and he might lose his job. His wife texted me this just now (we both used to date her; long story).

it is obvious to me what he meant and there is nothing "racist" about this
the use of the word "Negro" is a correct historical name and event here but they seem to think it's somehow like he said "nigger" during a job interview
