Blame the rich parasites, sure, but on some level, if Gen X had enough backbone to ask for a raise or something instead of shrewdly biding its time for 50 years, they would've been able to afford to pay for their Houses. If the wealthy boomers knew that they had skimmed so much off the top of Gen X labor that the entire Gen was insolvent, they might've made some concessions.
