You can be in for 16 (?) years as an E5 before RCP'ing in certain MOS's.

You could be 58 years old and stuck in the barracks, getting your room inspected by a 22 year old E6 and told off for not having made your bed that morning.

you'd make like $65k if you enlist w a bachelors degree

An active-duty E-4 with less than 2 years of experience earns a base pay of \(\$3,142.34\) per month, or \(\$37,708\) annually. Factoring in the standard food allowance (BAS) of \(\$452.56\) per month and average housing allowance (BAH), typical total annual compensation is \(\$55,000\) to \(\$65,000\)

I’ve got a case w a captain who just got promoted to lt colonel and he’s making over 140k per year and value of his retirement is like 2.5m

And that's not including the 100% disability he will end up with based on stress headaches or whatever the vets all make up these days.

20 years is a long time but i think i can maek it for dat pension

it's absurd to think that you can enlist at 18 and "retire" at 38 with a 40% pension for life. the military is terrible at advertising this tbh

Is it hard or easy to actually serve 20 years without being asked to leave?

Seems easier to do a few months or years and then do fraudulent disability claim.

It's hard if you're intelligent and can make MOAR money in the civilian world.

The best and the brightest usually leave prior to hitting 10 years because there are better opportunities. The lifers who stay in usually weren't Captain America to begin with. They were just smart enough to keep sucking on the government teet

You collect your pension immediately upon retirement if you have 20 years of service.

Plus, if you've lasted that long, then you definintely have SOME kind of injury documented thru the VA.

yes, no age requirement jus have to be in one of the MOSes they take for enlisted

Have a specific Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) authorized to be hired by the 75th Ranger Regiment, including Infantryman (11B), Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (91B), Parachute Rigger (92R), and many more.
