Nice. I have one friend out here who was born in Israel and fought in the IDF, but I made friends with him way before I learned the truth about Israel and haven't talked to him about it since then. I was wearing a kuffiyeh headband last time I saw him and he was as nice to me as ever so I think he's cool? But he also goes back there a lot and stuff so idkkkk |

Many people simply cannot square away the actions of Israel since 10/7 with the brainwashing that took root early on. Israeli abuses were not in the public consciousness before then, many Jews who were brainwashed DID IN FACT renounce or greatly moderate their prior views on Zionism, but for others it just takes time I think--and of course there will always be a hardheaded vocal contingent that will double down.
You know I actually find actual Israelis to be more pleasant and nuanced about this stuff than American Zios, so I'm not surprised to hear that about your friend. Growing up around the ~15% of the population that is Muslim/Arab probably helps a ton. |

Makes sense that the Israelis open-minded enough to leave the terrorist state would have a good chance of being decent humans. I think 99% of the ones who live there are too far gone. I follow Israeli pro-Palestine pages and most of the people protesting are young, so many of the ones with souls probably just haven't gotten a chance to GTFO yet. That's not to say that there aren't people there who are staying because they have hope of building a non-evil Israel. But I sure don't have that hope. |
