A gay little fun fact about Daft Punk is that they were part of a three member band called Darlin' shortly before they formed Daft Punk. After they broke up, the third member of Darlin' went on to form Phoenix.
Crazy to consider that anytime you step into a decent hotel or upscale bar in Manhattan, you will hear something by Daft Punk or Phoenix. I am hearing "Fences" in my head as I type this. |

It sounds like you are younger than me, but I was in my early 20s in Manhattan when it came out and it was 180^180^180. Truly an unparalleled experience to live in NYC post-GFC when it was legitimately safe and clean (thanks to Fuhrer Bloomberg) and ALIVE with energy and creativity. It felt like everything was on an upswing.
