And I'd argue that for people to really embrace right wing ideas (and solutions to the actual problems), they need to first really get a taste of communism. It's a fundamental principle that mens rea is required for a person to be guilty, and an insane person might not have that.
The issue is that these people think criminal justice is the only avenue to get those dangerous to society off the streets. But that's a recent thing. We should have mental health facilities for those people along with all the deranged hobos out there.
Also while I think Clancy is guilty I'm not clutching my pearls if she goes free. The case isn't that important and it's not like Trayvon or Zimmerman that taps into some important social issue. People who think women are going to let murdering moms of en masse are hysterical. First of all it's a rare event, second retarded juries let murderous didnus off the hook all the time. That's the price we pay for a justice system with such a high bar for guilt, which I support. But every single person I've met who works with the homeless, and I used to be one of them, agrees they need to be locked the fuck up for their own good and for society. It should be a completely nonpartisan issue, and if everyone worked at a shelter for a weekend it would be. Whether it's out of compassion for them or for the betterment of society: lock them up until they withdrawal. |
