This is actually really borderline which is fodder for zozo but I strongly lean defendant had a near air tight self defense claim. Surprised she plead down to Involuntary Manslaughter. She had to have had really strong odds at trial. Lots of witnesses, she never lies in her police interview. I guess her lawyer got to her and said the juice isn't worth the squeeze, you'll serve just over a year and move on with your life vs risking a murder trial. I can see how she would just want to get her life back. But holy fuck she was taking a beating by a much bigger chick while a bunch of people were threatening her. And seemed like the victim and victim's friend did all of the instigating including lying in wait to attack her. I as a juror would acquit on all charges. |
