these Firms would last like 3 months without a Publisher paying their bills. their "business models" are a Joke.
imo most successful game devs get a hot streak doing One Thing and then it falls apart as soon as things change or a new gen comes along. Rare, Cyan, Squaresoft, Factor 5, and many others fit this bill. Shiny Entertainment is another.
most of msft's devs were bought after their best days were behind them.
