Jesus, what's it like living in Canadian smoke hell with no air purifiers?

I lived in brand new house during the 2020 wildfires and could smell smoke in every room. The air quality was so bad that I had to stay in a hotel for over a week.

Here in the Twin Cities, the outside air this week was the worst I've ever experienced.
Wasn't that bad inside though. I don't have an "air purifier" but I did run the AC and my dehumidifier a lot.
