Period New metro/subway route Approx. km
1980s ~58 mi ~93 km
1990s ~207 mi ~333 km
2000s ~60 mi ~97 km
2010s ~60 mi ~97 km
2020–2023 ~10 mi ~16 km
1980–2023 total ~395 mi ~636 km

since 1980 only added 11k highway but almost all of that was pre 2000, since 2000 only 3.8k
If you mean 11,738 km of Interstate added since 1980, as a percentage of the entire U.S. public road network in 1980:
Total public road mileage in 1980: 3,859,837 miles = ~6.212 million km
Interstate added: 11,738 km
11,738 ÷ 6,212,000 = 0.189%
So about 0.19% of the entire U.S. road network in 1980.
But if you mean as a percentage of the Interstate network that existed in 1980:
1980 Interstate network: ~66,176 km
Added since 1980: 11,738 km
= 17.7%

At least 50% of USA airports should be destroyed and never rebuilt
Honestly there should only be like 8 max regional airports and 3 international ones

By the way, I eventually got home that evening but it basically cost me the time of a trans-atlantic flight. Insult to injury: they gave me a $20 meal credit and I went to get a lox bagel at the airport. The cost? $21.80. No drinks or anything, just 1 bagel and tax. It was a great bagel but holy shit.
