Can someone explain this to me? Half of all inflation is from food/housing. Tech bro Walsh thinks AI will make inflation a thing of the past.
How?

Food, definitely, by making supply chains more efficient and automating harvesting and processing.
Housing? Difficult, since so much of the bottleneck in supply is due to regulation, not technology.

Automated milking, management of milking schedules, management of logistics and shipping and inventory management.

Better example is picking g of fruits and vegetables. There are AI powered machines that weed fields now so you don't need to use herbicides, there are AI pickers for delicate fruits that needed to be picked manually.

Price of food has been continually falling as a percentage of income for centuries at this point and is still falling. Every efficiency gain incrementally lowers prices.

Wrong. Grocery prices have not grown faster than inflation...only restaurant prices have, largely bevause of $20 minimum wage laws in shitlib states. People have also been spending more at restaurants. Grocery prices have continued falling relative to inflation. But inflation is a shitty measure because it is largely deiven by food in the first place. Percentage of income spent on groceries is a better measure and groceries as a percent of median income has also fallen.

First,
Incomes have grown less than inflation. So food tracking inflation = food becoming more expensive. hth.
Also, food quality and nutrition has gone to SHIT. We may be buying the same amount of food for a similiar price as 20 years ago, but now its made with cheap as fuck chemicals and is hardly considered real food. Real food is way more expensive now. Go look at the ingredients of food today vs 20 years ago. Most went from like 8 to 25.
hth

Also, ljl at food quality going to shit. The ultraprocessed prole garbage my parents fed me would be considered child abuse now. Lunchables, Kraft Mac and Cheese, Velveeta, Oscar Mayer Baloney, Capri Sun, kraft am3rocan "cheese" singles, Sunny Delight, hot dogs, Hawaiian Punch, Rice A Roni, etc.
50 years ago the only vegetables Americans ate came out of a can or freezer.

You seem retarded. The quality has improved (now people drink real fruit juice instead of Hawaiian punch, eat real cheese iblnstead of Kraft singles,l and velveeta, eat unprocessed meat instead of cold cuts, fresh veggies intead of canned) and its less expensive than it was as a share of income.

In an ideal world reducing labor costs would mean more abundance for everyone. Because techbros are engineers they think things work like that. It makes sense after all -- why would making widgets more efficient to produce reduce the number of widgets people can afford?
They don't consider that the gains from AI will be gobbled up by capital, and the widget makers will be left worse off.

This is braindead Marxist nonsense that has been falsified again and again.
We're better off having combines pick our cotton rather than field niggers. Cotton T shirts used to cost a day's salary, now cost $3.

The more we automate coding jobs and agricultural jobs, the fewer jeets and beaners we need to import.

Jeets and beaners are drawn here by jobs. Eliminate the jobs, eliminate the draw.
