9am: arrive at work, boss's boss informs me my new boss is 10 years my junior
12pm: lunch break. Wife's Insta clip has gone viral and everyone is laughing at me.
3pm: kid boss arrives at work, immediately rips into me for not having his office perfectly tidy (I'm a senior dev but I took on these duties for my previous boss as an act of kindness, and I guess it just became an expectation, one that was communicated to the new boss).
6pm-8pm: stay at work for hours I'm not being paid for to avoid losing position in office politics
9pm: arrive at home, forced to be one of the dancers in my wife's Instagram dance video (her, me and my two daughters all dancing kind of like a line dance).
There was a time in my life when I thought I could handle all this, but I'm at a point now where I frankly can't handle the humiliation. It's day after day bros. I wake up humiliated, get humiliated throughout the day, then go to bed humiliated. And it just repeats over and over again, day after day. |
