I will likely be resigning from my coding manager job tomorrow.

Holy fuck I hate managing coders.

That's what everyone says, but I received a verbal offer Friday afternoon and should receive a written offer tomorrow. I applied for only like 30 jobs, got four interviews, and came out with one offer. The job is WFH. More pay with fewer responsibilities.

Coding bootcamp liberal artists are still fucked; I know tons who have been unemployed for years. I, however, have a (((prestigious))) STEM degree, a great resume, and didn't even have to study leetcode to pass any coding challenges.

Going from just under $200k to $230k without much room for a bonus. Not a big move, but the job will be easier since I won't have to manage socially retarded coder autists. Same industry, which is very stable at the moment.

I don't talk to most of the coding bootcamp liberal artists, but I see them on LinkedIn. Most of them appear to have gotten laid off in 2023 and have not updated their LinkedIn profiles since then. The one I do talk to has been unemployed for just over three years now. He gets interviews, but never an offer. I don't have the heart to tell him he can't get a job because he just sucks at coding.

Are the artists automatically dinged because of the bootcamp as a signaler on the resume or because their coding skills suck

If your coding skills sucked but you had a top STEM degree, can you still make it

As far as I can tell, the liberal artists are auto-dinged because a lot more people have CS/STEM degrees since (((they))) told everyone to learn to code. 10 years ago you could get in the industry with a pathetic BA in Political Science, but now you're competing against a more saturated market of CS/STEM degrees. The only exception seems to be being a woman and/or URM; DEI is still very real.

If your coding skills suck but you have a top STEM degree, your career as a codecuck lacks stability as the employer can more readily find a competent replacement these days. About a year ago I was involved in a PIP for a guy with a BS and MS in CS who struggled to write code, and the team wouldn't trust him to do anything important. Your degree can only get you so far; the goyim will tear you down if you're not productive enough.

If you have good coding skills but come from a bootcamp, can you still make it nowadays? Or does the STIGMA of bootcamp have an effect

What qualifies as a top STEM degree nowadays? Did the BS/MS guy have like a Stanford MS degree - did he last long? Will the degree still give him a soft landing
