A bunch of people showed up to support him, more than could fit in the courtroom, so some had to wait outside. It's kind of a lot to type but I'm planning on making a vid about it because there were a couple things I observed in the courtroom that I haven't seen him or anyone else talk about. But the main facts are on his social media. Basically he got the docs in on time and then there's a grace period where they contact people asking for corrections. So they kept sending him vague, confusing, and sometimes contradictory emails about ""mistakes"" in his paperwork; he consulted with his accountant and resubmitted, then they emailed him at 4:50 PM on the correction deadline saying that they'd found new mistakes in the new submissions. But if you combine the two submissions, he did have all of the correct paperwork filed.
I pored through the case files to confirm that was true, and I also found an itemized table with the remaining ""mistakes"" (why couldn't they have sent him an itemized list instead of the vague bullshit they told him?) and it was literally like, numbers being right-aligned instead of left, something being blanked out instead of redacted with a black bar, shit like that. But even that table confirmed that between his two submissions, he had correct versions of all the documents.
When Butch Ware's lawyer said in plain words that all of the correct files were submitted, the judge made this surprised "Huh" sound, like he didn't know that beforehand. But it obviously didn't matter because he just read his three-page prewritten judgment he already had, probably sent to him from above lolol |

They saw an opportunity to punch out a rival and they pounced on it. Both of them really thought they had a chance at the nomination. Later, Warren tried to smear Bernie during the 2020 primary. It didn't work because Bernie is such an OG and she basically copied most of his 2016 campaign platform. Bernie was really pissed though and refused to engage her. The Dems are all seriously fucked up individuals who are so greedy for power and attention.
Franken later said he regretted caving to the witch hunt and stepping down. He was like woah I really bitched out there. |

All the Democrats are freaking out because there are so many Dems splitting the vote that the top-polling two candidates right now are Republicans. It's a jungle primary, so if the vote were tomorrow and went the ways of the polls, two Republicans would advance to the general.
They saw an opportunity to remove one Dem from contention so they're all getting on that. |
