And this was by design – again, this class wants us divided left-vs.-right instead of teaming up against those in power.
Let me clarify a few things: - Trans identities are valid - I see trans people just as I see anyone else - I support and respect kids choosing to live as a different gender, including trans boys wearing binders and stuff like that that's purely cosmetic - I support every flavor of gender-affirming care for adults
But I do not support letting kids take puberty blockers or change their genitals, because those things are not reversible. I would consider revising that stance if I were confident that it was implemented very, very carefully and only when everyone involved (child, doctor, parents) had explored EVERY option and was aware of EVERY RISK. But that's not the case. I have seen far too many stories of people who took puberty blockers and later decided to detransition as adults but were left with things like micropenises, inability to orgasm, etc. that they and their parents were not warned about beforehand.
edit: I don't support (irreversible) gender-affirming care for cis kids, either, which I know makes up the vast majority of such surgeries for kids. |

Date: April 8th, 2026 6:05 PM Author: legally female father I think that, applying standards of medical ethics applicable everywhere but this context, surgery is never medically necessary and, in the case of vaginoplasty in males and phalloplasty (but not metoidioplasty) in females, is always unethical to perform on anyone at any age because it permanently destroys a functional organ for no real therapeutic purpose on account of a personal preference. Obviously doctors are meant to protect and improve bodily function, not to destroy it.
Worth noting that binders aren't strictly cosmetic because they can stunt growth from compression.
I also don't accept the premise of 'trans identities' as some immutable and sacred thing. It's basically a religious belief.
I don't buy this 'elite class' thing. It's a handful of medical people and a whole lot of impressionable transgenders pushing for this, not just detached liberals. Maybe Ghislane Maxwell is secretly running every troon community but I doubt it. |

I know it's a cliche, but it really is life-saving for many. Some end up regretting it, and that's unfortunate, but IMO adults should be able to do whatever they want and live with the consequences. Are you opposed to vasectomies and hysterectomies and stuff like that? What about this: would you support vaginoplasty or phalloplasty for people whose genitals were already non-functional?
Yeah, I considered that about binding, but I think of it as a different category of invasiveness and biological impact compared to the other things. And I think it's more common for kids to just wear the binder out in public but not at home, which I don't think??? would have that effect. I may be wrong.
Sure, you can think of it as akin to a religious belief. I don't think of it as sacred, either. I'm just saying if someone says they're XYZ gender, I'll take them at their word for it because literally why not? I've never really had strong feelings about what other people should or shouldn't do as long as they're not hurting anyone. (Performing or even promoting irreversible GAC on children is an example of something that DOES hurt people. And a trans person living their life doesn't count as promoting that.)
Idk man, I think the Epstein stuff has proven that there really are pure evil cabals running shit. I don't know exactly what combination of interests has gotten trans stuff to where it is now, but again: I think that being trans is legitimate but blown up for political purposes. |

- 2016-2024 or so carried the feeling of some kind of Männerbund: young people engaging politically and sometimes physically with an intensity and violence of action. Something to be said about the ability to muster up a passion about something like that, even if it was insane and even if I opposed most of it. - In a sense, it was also like Masonry; you could hop into any town and you would have a network of people who'd usually have rich parents or work in tech and you could get stuff done. Now everyone is a troon and it's been severely prolefied. - It's gathered an incredible treasure trove of scientific data about what different sex hormones, agonists and antagonists, etc., do to people. - More generally, along with COVID, MPox and some other things, it's instilled a healthy skepticism of the medical establishment in the general public. People would be way too willing to believe what doctors say about everything otherwise. |
