Plus the hot chick just happened to be Diane Lane. C Thomas Howell is the main character and by far the least famous.

What is a plot hole in the original book is that SE Hinton is a woman who used a pseudonym so that her book would be measured by the standards of male authors and wouldn't be written off as chick lit, but the book actually sucks ass, totally feels like it's written by a woman pretending to be a man, and we would never have heard of The Outsiders, Tex, or SE Hinton were she not a woman. |
