"Sources said the flare up started days earlier, when Michael told classmates during an ethics discussion that the much hyped Switch 2 "basically has no games" and was just "a $400 menu screen simulator." Several students who had preordered the console reportedly erupted in anger, accusing him of mocking their families for spending money on launch bundles, and one parent complained to the administration that his remarks created a "hostile environment" for Nintendo fans. According to a draft email reviewed by the paper, school officials were preparing to cite his comment about the Switch 2 as an example of his "pattern of disrespectful and inflammatory speech about classmates personal interests."
