my goal now is to steer my kid into something else. i have been drilling in her since she was young that she is required to open a cafe / art gallery that I can chill at in my old age |

There is a reason white shoe firms did corporate and nothing else. It can be interesting intellectually, the work can be learned, it addresses business directly and you get to work with business people.
Corporate litigation (outside a few specific niches) and corporate compliance and all the other swamplands are absolutely TTT and unworthy of consideration. |

If you can get into a corporate practice that deals with commercially relevant items and be a partner of the business it can imo be a cool gig and afford you the ability to work with smart cool people. Also can set you up for interesting in-house legal jobs or blended commercial / legal roles. If you are doing litigation or get into a pure compliance (read: cost center / annoying BS role) you will be in the case of litigation pigeonholed and work with insufferable lawyer types or in the case of compliance deal with dull back office gargoyle types. Also regarding the latter compliance type roles at large enterprises are totally thankless jobs and you are viewed as a cost and drag on the business.
