Near Future: Shuttle buses from stations Shuttle buses will soon operate between NMIA and nearby railway stations — Seawoods, Nerul, Belapur, and Targhar — making last-mile travel smoother. Commuters can currently reach Targhar Station via Harbour Line and switch to the Uran Line to get closer to the airport.
Future metro connectivity The upcoming Metro Line 8 (Gold Line) will directly connect Mumbai Airport to Navi Mumbai Airport, expected to be completed by 2029. Additional Navi Mumbai metro extensions are also planned to link directly to NMIA, providing a seamless airport-to-airport travel experience.
Water taxi in the works A water taxi service from Radio Club Jetty (Colaba) to a planned jetty near NMIA is also under consideration. The proposal, backed by the Maharashtra Maritime Board, aims to offer scenic and time-saving access from South Mumbai once feasibility approvals are cleared.
