Car insurance doesn't pay for routine maintenance. It doesn't pay for when you go 5 years without getting an oil change and you need a whole new engine. It doesn't pay for when your car is a lemon and the alternator dies after you drive it off the lot. It doesn't pay for when you drive drunk into light pole. Health insurance would become affordable if it only paid for acute injuries for which the patient is not at fault, like real insurance.

american "health" insurance companies need to be destroyed

hello I need to see a doctor

you can't you've never visited your doctor so you're no longer one of his patients

wait, I've been paying insurance monthly for years and I don't have a doctor?

No, you can find a new one but many aren't taking new patients.

wait, I need to call to get a new doctor? yes I'm emailing you now a list of doctors in your area. call them and see if they'll see you.

curb should have done an episode about being a NEW PATIENT and larry trying to ESTABLISH himself w some doctor. it's lulzy that these doctors treat you differently as if there's some big difference between a NEW PATIENT and an ESTABLISHED patient.

dumb poast. if you have a $500 deductible, which many people have, car insurance covers some minor parking lot fender bender

That would be an acute injury resulting from a loss event in which you were not at fault.

you're calling it car insurance when it's really car ACCIDENT insurance. it's explicitly not a car maintenance plan.

health insurance is more comprehensive in that it covers maintenance, issues of misuse, accidents, and wear and tear.

It's not really insurance then. Insurance covers only unforeseeable losses for which the insured is not at fault.

"Car insurance doesn't pay for routine maintenance."

neither does health insurance. goodrx is cheaper than the "discounts" insurance gives you on prescriptions.

low iq schtick?

health insurance DOES pay for routine maintenance. all adults/kids get a free annual physical. babies get 7 free checkups in their 1st year. women get free birth control. women get free mammograms after whatever age. guys get free colonoscopies every 5 yrs after 45.
