it's like we slipped back 150 years before the field of public relations even existed. before bernays; before gustave le bon wrote his book, etc.
republicans, explain.

not when one guy gatekeeps everything
the sad truth is he's not a figurehead. he is actually "in charge." the whole reason this iran war debacle happened is because he, personally, donald trump, was tricked by jews into thinking the iran war was a slam dunk easy victory, and despite basically every single person in his administration and chain of command telling him it would be a disaster and not to do it, he did it anyway and no one was able to stop him

what i mean is, an iran war is a policy. it might be a dumb or bad policy, but PR exists to 'massage the message,' and to sell the policy using the psychological and marketing techniques that the field has developed since the late-1800's. even bad policies can benefit from good PR.
MAGA's PR is just a mess, though. it's not being done well or competently. in fact, a lot of MAGA 'influencers' are abrasively stupid, and their main influence at this point is probably the alienation of anyone who wasn't already a fully-committed MAGA partisan.
these are basic PR errors. but there is no excuse to be making such errors when professional PR techniques have existed for so long. it means someone is not even trying, and/or nobody competent is willing to work PR for the regime.

i could be wrong about this, but i don't think there actually is any "PR angle" that could be spun about the iran war, regardless of the skill of the PR operator
it's a completely losing conflict with zero benefits to any americans. iran poses no threat to americans in any way. it's obviously contributing to slowing down the economy and higher prices. there just isn't an "angle" to try to "sell" to people
i just don't see it. the era of being able to get on the handful of TV channels and lie in coordinated lockstep about "weapons of mass destruction" is over. people get their news and information from way too diverse of a collection of sources for that kind of stuff to work anymore
as additional evidence, i'd point to the biden admin's similar problems with public messaging. they had the entire establishment power structure backing them, too, and they still crashed and burned. the success that they did have was because the liberal-leaning public *already wanted* to "believe" things they knew were lies, like biden not being a senile vegetable, and were complicit in a sort of shared fake alternate reality that the other half of the country just ignored

"we will leave in a worse position than when we started" is probably true. "iran will leave in a better position than they started" is ljl but w/e let's accept it as true.
both of those statements are completely independent of whether we "got our ass kicked"
eg US taking Puerto Rico from spain in 1898 probably, in the long term, helped Spain and was a drag on the US. but Spain did not therefore "kick our ass" in that war.
