Remember when we bought ringtones & radar detectors in the 90s?

You're right. It has become an arms race. And a bloody one at that. The quiescent status quo days of the 90s, where a Valentine One and some plate mask would get you on a cannonball run from San Fran. to NY in thirty-six hours flat, only you and the road and the sun and the moon, cool as ice inside the cockpit of your jet black NSX, the roar of its V6 the chorus of your conquest -- they're long gone. In 2014, you need to have some form of offensive signals capability on your vehicle to be truly safe. That means active radar jamming, signature misdirection, even supersonic incapacitation.

The cannonball run is officially unbeatable now. The record got broken several times during COVID and I think the current record holder did it in around 24 hrs

I still have the detached faceplate of an Alpine car stereo from a car I totaled. I didn't want anyone stealing the stereo apparently.

Was there a way to not make those radar detectors loud as fuck? Or just turn them off for a minute when you drive by literally any commercial establishment? Maybe they’d be useful on an interstate at night idk.

I rode around with a dumb guy who had rented a car once. he hadn't buckled his seatbelt. that was Normal to him. the tone was beeping. I was like 'uhhh," and he was like 'it wasn't as Noticeable before...'
