How do you place a monetary value on $7,500/month disability payments?

I'm 48 now and someone asked me a personal question, what was my Net Worth and I wasn't sure how to answer. It was a close friend, but I told him roughly 2 million in assets/retirement accounts and an additional $7,500 a month from VA and SSDI. He said he wasn't interested in traveling and really not even interested in leaving the state (midwest). He was in pretty decent shape for a 70 year old, but it was one of the saddest things ever.
I would definitely killself before working as a walmart greeter. How can a human be so completely lost. |
