i bet the only reason this happened is because the plan sounds like an 80s action movie trump would love. bad ass president sends an elite team of us soldiers into a hostile socialist some american banana republic to capture the head of state alive and bring him home for trial. it's so wacky it's hard to even frame it as a cheesy 80s cold war action flick. that's exactly the type of shit trump would be down for.
