There is a visa called H4 visa. This is a dependent visa to the infamous H1 visa. It is mostly used by wives of Indian immigrants who come on the H1 visa. Traditionally the H4 visa did not allow for working in the US. It used to jokingly be called the "sex visa" because all one could do on it was be a home maker to your H1 spouse.
Some time in his first term, Obama, via executive order, allowed H4 dependents to get an EAD (Employment Authorization Document) and therefore take up employment. A flood of Indian housewives rushed into IT companies where they were happily hired by their husband's friends. Today American IT departments are full of these incompetent annoying women.
All Trump has to do to get rid of this is an executive order. End it the way it was created. Pretty simple. But he's not doing it. Didn't touch it in his first term and not doing it now. Why? Doing this one EASY thing could open job opportunities for lots of Americans. But he won't do it. |
