They're decently popular with Zoomers too, though mostly the older stuff

I disagree, though they definitely had promotional advantages that many of their contemporaries didn't

Casablancas grew up in a gilded cage and most white millennials don't have trouble sympathizing with that

Almost certainly

They called them the heralds of the new "New York sound", the genre was usually discussed in the terms of an east coast urban rock revival

In 2005 i was living in England and all that indie music was big over there. Seemed much more genuine. Arctic Monkeys are still pretty 180

first album is 180. i liked it when it came out, and i was going through a super annoying "too cool for the room" indie rock phase, so you'd think i'd write them off as manufactured, but no. that record was great.

i got their second and it didn't do much for me so i never really paid attention after that.

Room On Fire was quite good. IMO you're silly for not liking it.

Their next 3 were kinda mid. Personally, I think Angles was pretty strong but I can understand why others disagree.

New Abnormal was really good. I wish I had seen them at Red Rocks when they were touring for it, I happened to be in CO at the time.

Looking forward to the new one
