i got lucky at a shit-tier biglaw firm. i worked on a small team headed by a massive rainmaker. the firm didn't fuck around with his people.
only way to do biglaw, imo is a non-prestigious firm. fuck skadden, davis polk, etc.

worse, i was at baker hostetler. i just checked and MB is in the v50 and pays lockstep.
BH pays first years whatever the rate is for first years, and everything after that is black box. the one thing i didn't like was the comp. senior associates there probably make like 375, with superstars making just over 400 but that's a guess.
tradeoff is i don't think it's a sweatshop. notwithstanding the rainmaker who protected me, i didn't hear from other associates that they were worked too hard.
