Switch 2 being so shitty has killed my desire to play video games ever again.

I cultivated a large & highly regarded Switch 1 library, all physical games, knowing I'd one day play through them. But now I don't want to anymore, the system has been tainted now that it's tied to the Switch 2, an underpowered piece of shit with a cheap non OLED screen with no games. I genuinely have like 20-30 unopened games, some even imported from japan
The last game I tried playing was that new 2d zelda game where you play as zelda, and it was iphone quality trash. Some day we're gonna find out that nintendo quietly replaced all their workers with Indians and this will all make sense.

finally hooked my "dock" up to my 4k 65" widescreen television last night.
Mario Galaxy 1 looks GLORIOUS in 4k resolution, and is as fun and inventive as ever. A Triumph.

And why would nintendo be incentivized to make games for it, because they sold 153 million switch 1 systems,
And like 6 million switch 2s
Do you wanna sell to 153 million people or 6 million
🤔🤔🤔
It's a con. Potemkin console.

“Howard, you’ve read our May cover story, Something is Wrong with Nintendo 64. What’s your reaction?”
For fuck’s same, 6 months in. Shadows of the Empire hoth level and Boba Fett boss battle, violent western games, Mario/Mario Kart/Pilotwings, only system doing legit 3D and THIS is what they ask him? Diddy Kong Racing was mere weeks away.

I wanted to waste money on something but I am watching a playthrough of this Donkey Kong game and it just looks so shitty. Every 10 seconds a roguelike style menu pops up where you have to pick 1 of 3 passive traits. It's like they just threw in whatever systems are in the "Current Games" without considering whether they belong in a mainline Donkey Kong 3D platformer. And the level design is just so shitty. All of the "worlds" literally look like planets from Solar Eclipse on the Sega Saturn updated to run in high def:

So let me get this straight? A bunch of middle aged lawyers who have never even played Bananza are having a discussion about how it is shit? To be fair, I haven't played it, either. But so far this year, excluding rereleases, there are six games with a Metacritic score of 90+: Hades 2, Silksong, Clair Obscur, Blue Prince, Split Fiction, and Bananza. Most critics expect either Clair Obscur or Bananza to win GOTY. Maybe every single one of the 141 critical reviews of Bananza were paid off by Nintendo (or whatever conspiracy you are pushing here). But maybe we should try playing the game before declaring it is shit.

Do u realize just how insanely shitty the ABSOLUTE STATE OF GAMING is when those are the games with the highest scores? That is a complete Joke of a lineup. The only reason any of those games would be at 90%+ is that they're being graded on a law school style curve that Must hand out a certain number of A's regardless of the raw quality of the games. This is the weakest "GOTY" field of all time.
Oh yeah, and it's a "conspiracy" that gaming journalists overrate the games that fund their publications with heavy advertising dollars. Trust Me, I Know These Things LMAO

Yeah, I guess that explains why literally the two highest rated games on Metacritic this year (Hades 2 and Silksong) are created by tiny indie studies with zero advertising budget. If I remember correctly, Silksong was literally created by two dudes working in their respective basements.
Sure, this year is not going to go down in history like 2004, 2007, 2011, or 2023, but it doesn't mean that these games are bad. If you are trying to tell me that Hades 2 is shit, I have to wonder if you even game.
As an aside, when the two highest rated titles on Metacritic are both indie titles, it will be interesting to see if an indie game can finally snag GOTY. If not, I think that is conclusive proof that the Game Awards are in the pocket of the big studios.
