Leaving Wheeling. I crossed the bridge and started climbing that massive hill. Flanked by semis. Little did I know, but I was leaving a piece of me behind. I was headed into the Golden West to start my life anew. I look back on those times now, a multimillionaire, but with no time to do anything. I still wonder about those hills and mountainsides that are left unexplored. My youth, just a whisper now, sealed away in a shoebox filled with old pictures developed from throw-away disposable cameras purchased in an Eckerd Drug or a Rite Aid, Creedence Clearwater Revival softly playing on the Musak. |
