Courtney Chin is the founder of The Poke Court, a collectibles card store and officially licensed distributor for the Pokemon Company. The shop is located in Chelsea, Manhattan and launched in 2023.
Prior to starting The Poke Court, Courtney led Strategic Finance at Coinbase Inc, a digital currency startup in San Francisco, reporting directly to the CFO from 2019-2022. She also spent two years in the Business Operations group.
Prior to joining Coinbase, Courtney worked in the Hedge Fund Strategies Group at Goldman Sachs in New York. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst at UBS in the Secondary Advisory Group after earning her Bachelor of Science in Economics from HSS in 2012. As a senior, Courtney received the Outstanding Student Award from the Economics Department and graduated with high honors.
A four-year women's tennis player, Courtney helped the Tartans make four NCAA appearances, advancing to the quarterfinals three times. In her freshman campaign, the women's tennis team won the inaugural ITA National Team Indoor Championship. Courtney was a senior co-captain and three-time All-American. In 2011, Courtney reached the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship with classmate Laura Chen.
Courtney is from Cupertino, Calif., and attended Monta Vista High School. She currently lives in New York City and plays in recreational tennis and pickleball leagues.
