There is definitely an inferiority thing some places around here cultivate. But for me I just felt so disconnected from a place like NYC or somewhere where all the things in the history (((books))) I read were happening. The feel of the Midwest completely escapes me for example. We are not that and our prolls are very different than anything I encountered in a place like Florida.

I assume this is partially the case for a lot of places West of the Rockies but at least eg California is cool and it still has some history. Growing up most people couldn't even pronounce the state I grew up in.

They did a survey in my office last year for some ice breaker and asked how many people grew up here. Not a single person out of 20. People move here because they have this idea of what eg Seattle is supposed to be like. Nevermind it was a logging and coal town for most of its existence with an 8:1 men to women ratio. Both Oregon and Washington had Republican senators when I was a kid.

Cr even most of the white people are transplants now. Annoying hicklibs who chose Seattle over New York because they're trying to go into "tech" instead of finance or politics or whatever

I wonder what percentage of the current non boomer population grew up in Seattle. Probably less than 5%

Last election Washington was the only state to vote more blue.
