Karl is very black and white, it’s part of his charm. When he bombed Econ OCI he (rightly probably) saw it as an injustice instead of accepting it. Hence the long road from Rufo, shitting on academic DEI, to whatever it is he’s doing now. It’s a very Canadian, Dudley Doright approach.

Thomas sees the world for what it is and has no interest in change, or calling out “injustice,” or any of that. His worldview is more cynical, third-world (and accurate I’d say, but whatever). Thomas sees no issue in mocking the death of a white guy on a bort where other white guys call him “Turdskin.” I can’t say I blame him but I do agree such cynicism is a little sad.
